It’s been an incredible last three years for me and the folks at Rise Above. I can’t begin to thank everyone for all of their love and support. It’s seriously been one of the most humbling experiences for me. It’s the first time in my life where I’ve gotten to put together a vision, and turn it into a reality on this level. The fact that people have been appreciating that, and saying so many positive things about my food over the years is one of the best feelings I could ever have experienced.
Unfortunately for me the last 3 years have been difficult on the business side of things. Between the construction, stress, and recovering from a broken pelvis, that alone should have been enough to knock most people over. But Rise Above is much bigger than me. I wanted to make sure that everyone who is a part of the team was taken care of and considered before I made any serious decisions. I tried for as long as I could, and I feel like I’m ready to move on to bigger better things. As of August 1st, Rise Above and I will be going separate ways.
Fortunately for you, Brian Gasbarini, one of my servers who has been with us since day one is going to be taking over the ownership role. I’m sure all of the staff you’ve grown to love will be continuing with him and keeping Rise Above alive and well.
As for me, I’m in the process of writing a cookbook which will be out sometime next year. I’ll also be doing everything I can to keep learning and progressing as a chef. Cooking is something I love to do, and I couldn’t picture myself doing anything else. I’m sure everything that comes my way will be positive and exciting.
I’d like to thank Bruce Worden, Shane Belanger, Leah Belanger, Tayler Staneff, Brian Gasbarini, Mike Wale, Eddy Burciul and Heather Dowling for making Rise Above something I could have never done on my own.
Thank you all so much for everything over the past 3 years, I’ve felt some of the highest highs I have ever felt in my entire life doing this. Hopefully I’ll still experience your continued support in future endeavors.
